Cookie Policy

Last updated: September 29, 2026

This policy explains how cookies and similar technologies are used when you visit 1498studios.com or interact with our prospective client onboarding form.

Our website

Our website is built and hosted with Framer. Its built-in analytics help us understand overall site activity, such as page views and traffic sources, without using cookies or persistent visitor identifiers. With your consent, we also use Google Analytics, described below. We do not use advertising cookies.

Some interactive parts of our site are custom features we built ourselves. None of them use cookies. A few use your browser’s session storage, a small temporary storage space that is cleared when you close the browser tab:

  • Intro animation: we store a simple note that the opening animation has already played, so it doesn’t repeat every time you move between pages in the same tab.

  • Weather icon: we store the current weather type (for example, “rain” or “clear”) and whether it’s daytime, so the icon doesn’t need to reload on every page. Your location is not stored.

To display our 3D and interactive features, your browser loads some code libraries from a public content delivery network (esm.sh). As with loading any web content, this involves your browser connecting to that service, but no cookies are set by it on our site.

Google Analytics

We use Google Analytics, a web analytics service provided by Google LLC, to understand how visitors find and use our website, such as which pages are visited, how long people stay, and what kind of device and browser they use. This helps us improve our site and content.

Google Analytics uses cookies to tell visits apart and recognize returning visitors. These are first-party cookies set on our domain, such as _ga and _ga_<ID>, which by default last up to two years. The information collected is aggregated and is not used to identify you personally. Google processes this information on our behalf, and it may be processed outside Canada. To learn more, see How Google uses information from sites that use its services.

Google Analytics cookies are only set if you accept them in our cookie banner. You can change your choice at any time, and you can also opt out of Google Analytics on all websites with the Google Analytics Opt-out Browser Add-on.

Weather icon and your location
Our site shows a small icon for the current weather where you are. To do this, your browser may ask for permission to share your location. Sharing is optional:

  • If you allow it, we use an approximate position (rounded to about 1 km) to request the current weather from Open-Meteo, a weather data service. Your location is used only for that request and is not stored by us.

  • If you decline, the icon shows the weather for Vancouver instead.

You can change or withdraw location permission at any time in your browser settings.

Our Start a Project form

Our onboarding form is built directly into our website. It does not use cookies and does not save your answers in your browser. The form detects your time zone from your device so it can show available times in your local time.

When you press Send, the information you entered, such as your contact details and project information, is delivered to 1498 Studios by email through a third-party email delivery service (FormSubmit) so we can review your inquiry and follow up with you. Nothing is sent before you press Send.

Managing cookies and storage

You can accept or decline analytics cookies in our cookie banner, and change your choice at any time from the “Cookie settings” link in our footer.

You can also manage or delete cookies and other site data, including session storage, through your browser settings. Because our own features only use temporary session storage, closing the browser tab also clears it. Blocking site data or location access may affect how some features work, such as the weather icon showing a default location.

We may update this policy if our website, form, or connected services change. For questions, contact legal@1498studios.com.
